Since 1915, Families Forward Philadelphia has been dedicated to the same mission – to provide information, advice, guidance, protection and shelter…originally targeted to travelers.  We continue this legacy 100 years later by meeting the needs of Philadelphia’s homeless families.

  • We keep families together by accepting men and teen boys
  • We have over 300 children in our programs daily
  • We offer 80 homes in West Philadelphia to help transition formerly homeless families
  • 86% of school-aged children in our emergency shelter program attended school at least 80% or more school days
  • 96% of housing residents rated our services as “excellent” or “good”
  • 36% of our clients are 18 or over
  • 48% of our clients are between the ages of 5 and 17

  • The average length of stay in 2014 in our emergency shelter was 167 days
